Organizations that are truly managing their knowledge want to be able to reuse their content to efficiently build new courses, surveys, performance assessments, etc. They want their content stored as reusable information, often referred to as Reusable Learning Objects or RLOs.
BuildKit supports content reuse at several levels:
Topic Library - topics can consist of one or more pages of a course, or a grouping of quiz, test or survey questions. Topics can be searched with the built-in search engine, and then copied or shared by authorized builders to assemble new lessons, modules, courses, tests, quizzes, etc. While many competing products place strict limitations on the content making up a Reusable Learning Object, ePath Learning's topics can be as large or small as desired.
Media Library - any multimedia file smaller than 600 KBytes can be stored in the Media Library of BuildKit. The multimedia files can be tagged with key words for easy retrieval by the built-in search engine. ePath Learning also provides storage space in private directories for any multimedia files that are larger than 600 KBytes.
Reference Library - documents and URL links to external web sites can be stored in the Reference Library as course-level or university-level references. Course-level references are only accessible by learners from a course, while university-level references are available from the My Home page at anytime. The Reference Library feature is only available with our ASAP+ and ASAP (course-level only) offerings.
