Job Description:
- Administer 24/7 production facility
- Approximately 10 Solaris and Linux servers in a co-location rack
- Comprehensive monitoring of systems, Oracle, web server, Java servlets
- Application, database and user file backups / restore
- Administer Windows workstations and Solaris servers for application development
- Approximately 10 users with XP/Vista workstations, ~5 servers, 2 Samba servers
- Ghost for windows backups
- Miscellaneous operational support
Job Requirements:
3 to 5 years UNIX systems management experience including:
- Unix commands and configuration; e.g., sed, awk, ifconfig, inetd, nfs, sendmail
- Shell programming; e.g., sh, csh, bash, emacs, perl
- Hardware maintenance/configuration; e.g., install pci, scsi cards/devices
- Network maintenance/configuration; e.g., subnets, switches, routers, firewalls
- Monitoring and logging for performance tuning / problem detection
Additional Desired Experience:
- Solaris installation/configuration/administration; e.g., patch management, Sunscreen Firewall, Volume Manager RAID
- Red-Hat / CentOS Linux installation/configuration
- Cisco switch/router programming
- Apache Web Server (w. jserv and modSSL)
- Samba, Pure-FTP, Java
- Windows 2000/XP
- Oracle administration
- HTML, javascript, XML/XSLT
